My sweetheart, my wife, asked me to pick up a box of Betty Crocker Super Moist Lemon Cake mix. She working from a recipe she’s had for years and the recipe specifies Betty Crocker Super yada yada yada, 18.25 oz. She’s making cupcakes for a dozen kids in child-care at our church.
So, since I’m the guy who enjoys food shopping because I can catch the thieves picking our pockets, I go to the aisle with the baking stuff and I pick up the mix. Lo and behold, I look at the box and it says “15.25 Ounces”. So, I checked to see if there are other sizes and there are not: all of their mixes were marked “15.25 Ounces). It’s obvious that the manufacturer thinks we’re stupid and won’t notice that they shorted the product by 3 ounces. Betty Crocker is now Betty Crock . . . or perhaps Betty Crook!
Do you think the kids will notice that the dozen cup cakes you promised only number 10. Too bad two of the dozen kids don’t get a cupcake!
